I was diagnosed in 2008 with breast cancer. Surgery, reconstruction, and chemotherapy followed. I was very fortunate to be surrounded by my husband and our three daughters who supported me through the entire journey, but I saw there were many women doing this battle alone. When I finished my treatment, I set out to volunteer to help these gals and that evolved into this great organization we now have to ensure no woman fights breast cancer alone. We started with very basic help to our gals: a great book called The Breast Cancer Treatment Handbook and one support group. Now we have monthly activities and speakers along with an armful of helpful items for our gals.
