Wednesday May 24 Eating and Living well presentation
Good morning! Just a reminder that this Wednesday, May 24 at 6pm we will be having a special presentation on “Strategies For Eating and Living Well During Breast Cancer Treatment and Beyond” We will begin promptly at 6pm. This is normally a support group nite so we will chat with anyone having questions etc after the presentation. There will be light refreshments at this meeting. Our presenter is David Rosales, BA, BSN, RN. I think this is going to be a really good program.

What do we talk about at Support Group?
Good morning! Did you ever wonder what we talk about at support group? The answer…..lots of things…..where are you in your journey? What can we do to help? Where do you find help for wigs, bras, nutrition, someone to talk to professionally, lymphadema, scar massage, genetic testing, how to implants feel, why everyone hates expanders (but we need them)….all kinds of things…..come and join us sometime…..the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6pm. We do try to start promptly at 6.
We don’t want anyone to fight alone……this is a time consuming venture we are on…..sometimes our loved ones need a break from our feelings and frustrations…..that is what we are here for!!

Just a little update and a few thoughts
Good morning everyone! Driven by Heart has added a monthly craft night to our agenda. This month Tuesday April 25th. It is good to have some fun and enjoyment…..The Creative Lion, Suzanne and Jessie….bring a great project and laughter….we always have light snacks….so we have fun. And…..you end up with a great project for yourself or as a gift!! I usually do 2 at a time because everyone knows I am a “craft junky!!!”
Our usual monthly support group is Wednesday….April 26th at 6pm. We are fortunate enough to have Melissa Studebaker OCN, ARNP join us for our meetings. Always good conversations and hopefully the answers you need.
Driven by Heart is also providing surgical bras for the mastectomy girls. We work with Yongs Wigs and Mastectomy Supplies for that service! We have many valuable resources and we are happy to share those with you!

What do I ask?
So, just a little sharing today…..I have had a couple of gals call to chat…wished they would have asked this or that…..where to go for bras etc. DBH is happy to give you the info you need….we can suggest things to ask your Doc….make sure you have your answers. It is hard when you are first diagnosed to know what to ask….no one does…we never had breast cancer before. Unless you have a friend who can help you with that, you need someone to chat with…..ask…..ask about Physical Therapy, ask about scar massage, ask about if you have any other options…..ask exactly what is a lymphocintigraphy? Why do I need it? You have to be your own best advocate. We can help with that as well.
We are here to help and we don’t want anyone to fight alone.

Support Group and an added presentation
Good morning! This month we are adding on a discussion on Pelvic Floor Health to our agenda. It will begin at 6pm on Wednesday March 15 at our office on 1600 Sarno Rd. Ste 209 ……it is open to anyone wishing to attend and it will not be available via Zoom.
Our monthly support group meeting is Wednesday March 22 at 6pm at our office. This meeting will be available via Zoom….I will post the link prior to the meeting.

What does Driven by Heart do?
Good morning all……seems like today is a good day for a refresh…..what does DBH do? Well, we have supplies to help with surgical procedures and treatment…..wedge pillow, chest pillow, organic products, drain holders, shower shirts to start with…..we have many resources for things you will need along the way…..
We have support group meetings, which you can do in person or via zoom, so anyone anywhere can join in……or if you would rather, a one on one chat…..our phone is textable so we are available for questions and directions most of the time.

Support group meeting tonite February 22
Good morning all! Tonite is support group at 6pm. This is our first support group at our new home at 1600 Sarno Rd Ste 209. There are stairs and an elevator! We have our name and pink hearts on the window so we are easy to find. We will also be offering the Zoom option with the link below. The meeting will start at 6pm….looking forward to seeing everyone! We also have a few things going on in March that we will announce tonite at the meeting and tomorrow the dates will be on FB and our website.
